Where She Went by Gayle Forman

Title: Where She Went
Series: If I Stay #2
Author: Gayle Forman
Publisher: Dutton Juvenile
Pages: Hardcover, 264 pages
Rating: 3 Okay

Amazon | Book Depository | Goodreads

Summary:

It's been three years since the devastating accident ... three years since Mia walked out of Adam's life forever.
Now living on opposite coasts, Mia is Julliard's rising star and Adam is LA tabloid fodder, thanks to his new rock star status and celebrity girlfriend. When Adam gets stuck in New York by himself, chance brings the couple together again, for one last night. As they explore the city that has become Mia's home, Adam and Mia revisit the past and open their hearts to the future - and each other.
Told from Adam's point of view in the spare, lyrical prose that defined If I Stay, Where She Went explores the devastation of grief, the promise of new hope, and the flame of rekindled romance.

REVIEW
The story started off in “If I stay” (review) when Mia and her family had a car accident. And she was left alone deciding whether she should follow them or stay.

“Where she went” is the most anticipated sequel of the most heart breaking story “If I stay”.
The story is told in Adam’s POV.

This time it’s already three and half years since the horrible accident. And three and half years since Mia woke up from her coma. And three years since she left Adam alone without a proper goodbye. Making Adam wondering what had gone wrong and what happened. And because of his depression he wrote quite a lot of songs and made his band famous and became a Rock star and had a famous celebrity girlfriend. Despite it all. He is still searching for the answers of his unanswered questions. That only Mia can answer.

The story is as always heart breaking and yet heartwarming. The story is told in the same way the first novel was. Although like I said above the difference is that it’s Adam’s opinion this time.

Honestly? I don’t know where to start. I don’t know what to write. And I don’t know what to say in this book. It’s just perfect. The story is emotionally contained. It’s well written. The emotions are always there to the point that you’ll be always drawn in to the story.

It’s the same as the first book. Mia and Adam met. Then they take a tour and Adam brought us back 3 years ago from where he started another life without Mia in his side. What he’s done and all the emotions he felt for Mia as he is telling his story.

Adam is a perfect boyfriend I have to say. Not perfect “Perfect”. But maybe should I say a right example of a boyfriend? Anyways Adam is supportive and understanding boyfriend. After the accident he made sure that he is there for Mia. Supporting her in her every bits of move and taking care of her. And you wouldn’t hear any complain from him. It’s like his world is Mia. No..His world is indeed Mia. That is why I understand that he is mad at her at Mia when she suddenly left him and cut all her connections with him.
It was understandable. He did everything for her and she suddenly left him with no word.

But I also find it a bit tiring to read. All I could read about is Adam's bitterness and anger. Blaming all this to Mia. It’s three years right ? I know I so sound insensitive. But unlike the first book I think this book is full of bitterness rather than romantic. But I guess that’s what this book is all about. Since it’s about letting go and trying to move on. But it’s just tiring to read a thought where all it said or at least that’s what I interpreted is “It’s all because of her”. I know it’s hard to lose someone you love the most. Especially if you didn’t get a proper closure.

Ugh. I’m contradicting myself I know. But believe me. I don’t know whether I should appreciate the book or not. There is this side that I liked but there is also a side where I don’t like and it’s fighting that leads me what to decide. This book didn’t give me that heart warming feeling that I got from its prequel “If I stay”. It’s lacking.

Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater

Title: Shiver
Series:
The Wolves Mercy Falls #1
Author:
Maggie Stiefvater
Pages:
392 pages
Publisher:
Scholastic Press
My rating:
4 out of 5

Amazon|Book depository| Goodreads

Summary:

the cold.
Grace has spent years watching the wolves in the woods behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolf—her wolf—watches back. He feels deeply familiar to her, but she doesn't know why.

the heat.
Sam has lived two lives. As a wolf, he keeps the silent company of the girl he loves. And then, for a short time each year, he is human, never daring to talk to Grace...until now.

the shiver.
For Grace and Sam, love has always been kept at a distance. But once it's spoken, it cannot be denied. Sam must fight to stay human—and Grace must fight to keep him—even if it means taking on the scars of the past, the fragility of the present, and the impossibility of the future

Review:

Maggie made a new image of wolf. A werewolf in fact.

This isn't like any other werewolf story you read in the streets or in the balcony or whatever you are reading or where you read it.
The way they change has something to do with the temperature. Unlike from the other stories that they can change whenever they want to. Sadly
thats not what happened in this story. And that's why i think its somewhat unique. "somewhat" because....I'm not fully satisfied? in fact I think I shouldn't be writing this review until im done reading the whole series.

Sam has been watching Grace for over six years. They first met when Grace was eleven and he is twelve and she was attacked by the wolves when she was a child. Sam saved her. As he took a human form in order to carry her back home. Though at first she could not remember

who and how she was saved. But soon after that. Grace has been obsessed with wolves. Seeing Sam in a far. Convincing herself that he is guarding her and even call him "My wolf".

I Honestly don't know where to start and how to start my review about this book. I couldn't say anymore than this book is not in my hate list nor in my love list. It's not that attractive nor boring to read. Most of the story is about the two individual loving each other in the a huge distance. That one is pure human and the other is a werewolf.

Sam is kind, patient and Gentle. He was turn to werewolf in a forcefully way. Trying hard to stay human just so he could talk and know Grace more.

As for Grace. After being bitten by the whole pack of wolf she remained human.

In someway its quite odd. I mean she's suppose to turn in to a werewolf just like Sam. And
Sam there was guarding her and waiting for her to change skin and might as well help her find the whole pack for like..forever. Isn't he sweet?

The story was written in a vivid way that every reader would easily understand and catch up.
Unlike some other novel that you'll only get to know the main characters thought. This one is not. You'll get to know what Sam or Grace thinks for each other. Knowing each views. And by that you'll grow to love them too.

The Story is more focused on Sam and Grace growing love for each other. And fighting the temperature that might turn Sam back to a wolf. Which they couldn't risk. Because losing Sam now. Means Losing him forever.

Veronica Decides To Die~

Title: Veronica Decides to Die
Author:
Paolo Coelho
Pages:
240 pages
Publisher:
Harper Perennial

Amazon | Book Depository |
Goodreads

Review:

One Night Veronica was bored with her life.
All the things she needs and wants are in reach. She's has this awesome boyfriend, Loving parents and a job.

In the first chapter was a bit boring but the interest of finding out the reason of her suicidal attempt lingers me. Veronica indeed has a beautiful life. But the difference is she's not happy at all And She thinks that it was just normal and not interesting life to live in. So she decided to kill herself by drinking all the pills that she have. After several pill she drunk. She waited while reading magazines and writing letters for her parents.

Weeks or days later she woke up and was disappointed to know that her attempted failed. She woke up in the mental hospital(not sure) and found out that lots of tube were buried in her body only to help her live.

When she finally woke up from a long coma she found out that she only have a week to live and wasn't sad at all by hearing the news knowing that she don't have anything to lose if she die and no one will care.. Later in the story while waiting for her death she met a lot of people - Zedka, who has clinical depression; Mari, who suffers from panic attacks; and Eduard, who has schizophrenia, and with whom Veronika falls in love.

By the time goes by Veronica experience a lot of things she hasn't experience in her life or not allowed herself to experience including hatred, love and sexual awakening. And later on she realize how important life is and now eager to live. Though sad that she only have days to live. Veronica wants to have her last day with her love ones but she can't when she in imprisoned in the hospital and for sure no one will allow her to go out.

Anyways If I continue to summarize it for you. I'll be a big spoiler. This is the second book that I love in Coelho.
It just shows how to treasure life and dont take it for granted. I have to admit. Most of Coelho's books doesn't really attracts me as it attracts to lyn. I Just think that all of them are way too mature? is that the right word? no...lets say..its not my cup of tea. But since I rarely find a book that talks about how good life is? How exciting and thrilling it is?

And because of that. This book made some impact to me. Though Indeed. I have to admit. There are some points in our life where we feel bored. And tends to think irrationally. But there are times when we meet someone who will fill that part and make us feel contented right? And that's what Veronica experienced. Though It was too late because she only have one week to live and her heart will stop beating. She made her last 3 days a day like its her last. . . but...was it really?

The Viscount Who loved me - Julia Quinn

The Viscount Who Loved Me (Bridgertons, #2)Title: The Viscount Who Loved Me
Author: Julia Quinn
Pages: 376 pages
Publisher: Avon

Amazon | Book Depository | Goodreads

Reveiw:

Meet Katherine Sheffield in short Kate. A Strong woman who live with her Step Mother and sister after her father died last five years ago. She loves her family so much and they love her back. Even though they are not blood related they treated each other as one. Kate is an over protective sister to her younger sister Edwina who just debuted and became famous and suddenly have a tons of suitors after her. Kate would have considered the other suitors for her sister but not the rumored womanizer/playboy- Viscount Anthony Bridgerton. Anyone but him.

Viscount Anthony - Who decided to pursue Edwina and ask her hand to marry. Had a hard time when Edwina's older sister Kate appeared in the picture. And decided to stop him from his every plan.

Well Imagine what happen next.

When i picked this book in my near book store. I didn't know that there is another books. I was annoyed knowing that I picked the wrong book. I should have picked the first book of this and this after. But oh well. It's done. And im done reading this when I realized my mistake.

This story is not so good nor bad. The story isn't that appealing to me to the point where I get excited. Nor it isn't that boring. Though I have to admit. I skipped some pages (>.<).

I don't like how Kate thinks of herself every time she is compared to her little sister who is prettier than her. How everyone thinks of her. But I love it that she remained strong and confident of herself despite what everyone thinks of her. Yes. Edwina might be prettier or more beautiful than her. But she is far more smarter and sensible in someways. And she loves Edwina and Edwina loves her back. And nothing can break that bond they have. And Mary. I love how she remained and balanced her love to her daughters. You wouldn't think that she is just a stepmother here.

Anthony is............................................well i really cant say anything about him except that....well a liar is someways,

Over all. I think 3 is enough.

The Body Finder - Kimberly Derting

The Body FinderTitle: The Body Finder
Author: Kimberly Derting
Pages: 336 pages
Publisher: HarperCollins
Rating: 4.5/5

Amazon | Book Depository | Goodreads

Summary:

Violet Ambrose is grappling with two major issues: Jay Heaton and her morbid secret ability. While the sixteen-year-old is confused by her new feelings for her best friend since childhood, she is more disturbed by her "power" to sense dead bodies—or at least those that have been murdered. Since she was a little girl, she has felt the echoes the dead leave behind in the world . . . and the imprints that attach to their killers.

Violet has never considered her strange talent to be a gift; it mostly just led her to find dead birds her cat left for her. But now that a serial killer is terrorizing her small town, and the echoes of the local girls he's claimed haunt her daily, Violet realizes she might be the only person who can stop him.

Despite his fierce protectiveness over her, Jay reluctantly agrees to help Violet find the murderer—and Violet is unnerved by her hope that Jay's intentions are much more than friendly. But even as she's falling intensely in love, Violet is getting closer and closer to discovering a killer . . . and becoming his prey herself.

Review:

This book did not fail to disappoint me. I have to admit, At first I wasn't really attractive to it. Until I have decided to buy it because I've been hearing good things about this book and might as well try it, so Ta-da!

Violet is a teenage girl blessed with her unique ability to sensed dead bodies. It started with just animal bodies until when she was 8 yrs old, Together with her dad. She found a body of girl in the woods just behind their house. Years passed and now a Junior high She again found a body in the lake and so it happens again. Bodies buried in random places where no one would think it is. This happens continuously and parents are getting worried and so does Violets. Worried and scared at the same time. Violet decided to track down the murder/kidnapper herself using her ability.

While I was reading the book. I don't know whether I should hold my breath or scream. As I've been reading fantasy books lately and searching for a book like this. And happy to have found one.

Violet is strong and smart girl. Having her problem with Jay. And together with Jay. She will find the killer.

Jay....OMG... I can picture that he's so hot. I can't help but dream that I hope i have the same "best friend and Childhood friend" Like him.

I dont know what to be excited about. Is it Violet tracking down the murderer or Jay.

I cant say enough. But this book is good!
