Pages: 440 (Hardcover)

Publication Date: August 2010

Nine of us came here. We look like you. We talk like you. We live among you. But we are not you. We can do things you dream of doing. We have powers you dream of having. We are stronger and faster than anything you have ever seen. We are the superheroes you worship in movies and comic books - but we are real.

Our plan was to grow, and train, and become strong, and become one, and fight them. But they found us and started hunting us first. Now all of us are running. Spending our lives in shadows, in places where no one would look, blending in. We have lived among you without you knowing.

But they know.

They caught Number One in Malaysia. Number Two in England. And Number Three in Kenya. They killed them all.

I am Number Four. I am next.

I Am Number Four has got to have the best summary a book can have. EVER! Once you read it, you'll be tempted to read the rest of the book. That's why I posted the summary here - which I don't normally do. Unfortunately, the rest of the book didn't give me the same satisfaction the summary did. The story started out smoothly. A nice start to what I thought will become an epic novel. But that proved me wrong as I reached halfway through the book. It was bland, cliched and predictable. And with characters I find boring but annoying, there was nothing to keep me reading the book.

You have no idea just how sorry I was. I wanted to like this book so badly because it was going to be a movie, (stupid reason. I know.) but the blandness and urge to stop reading it were too strong to ignore. I couldn't even finish reading it for the sake of finishing it.
But, as a consolation, IT'S GOT AN EPIC MOVIE TRAILER!!!

I really don't get the whole aliens in YA thing (neither do I 'get' angels). But I've heard so many rave reviews about 'I Am Number Four'. The movie trailer is pretty awesome as well. Aaagh, I don't know if I should give this one a go though, don't want to be disappointed.
