Book Blogger Hop (5) & Follow Friday (9)

Book Blogger Hop
Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee. Book Blogger Hop is hosted by Jennifer of Crazy-For-Books.

Hello~ guys! Jee, it’s me Kay-c!
Wow. It’s been long since I last posted! College really took all my time to blog! And well some personal problems too but all are sorted out now and I'M BACK!! though it's not that I left, but you know...back from blogging and I feel good =D
And also, it's sad to say that I'll be on my own for now. Hey, come to think of it. The three of us doesn't have much time to blog. Mith has her connection cut, Lyn's busy working and I am busy with my school. Well I don’t know if you guys noticed that were not posting anything lately. And it's been long since we all answered the blog hop questions complete! I too miss them. We are trio after all.

Anyhow. It's been a boring week! Well since we did not post anything this week at all. But we are working on it =D

QUESTION: "What are you reading now and why are you reading it?"

Kay-c : I'm currently reading Anna and the French Kiss. I honestly have read this 3 times now. I just can't get a hold of some scenes and be giddy. I can't help but get addicted to it. My review will be out soon. And you'll find out how crazy I am while reading this. Jee.

Book Blogger Hop (4) & Follow Friday (8)

Book Blogger Hop
Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee. Book Blogger Hop is hosted by Jennifer of Crazy-For-Books.

Question for the hop: "What book are you most looking forward to seeing published in 2011? Why are you anticipating that book?"

Lyn: Some of the books I looked forward to be published in 2011 have been released, or soon to be released and I already read the ARC. And for other books, I must say City of Fallen Angels and whatever book Paulo Coelho is going to write.

Question for FF:"What is/was your favorite subject in school?"

Lyn: Ugh, this is tough. It's been awhile since I studied but in high school, English was my favorite subject. In college, it was Mass Communication.

While you're here don't forget to check out what we have this week! And enter our GIVEAWAY for Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Sausages by Tom Holt. It's hilarious!

Book Blogger Hop (3) & Follow Friday (7)

Book Blogger Hop
Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee. Book Blogger Hop is hosted by Jennifer of Crazy-For-Books.

Question for the hop: What book influenced or changed your life? How did it influence/change you?

Lyn: I have several books that change my life; Harry Potter series turn me into fantasy addict. Sophie's World turn me into philosophy lover, and Agatha Christie's The Big Four turn me into Christie's lover. But it all started with Huckleberry Finn. I always like reading since I was a little girl, my parents always give book as birthday present, but I never really became a book addict until I read Huckleberry Finn. Reading it gave so much information and open my eyes about many things I didn't know at that time.

Question for FF: What book(s) have you discovered lately from someone's book blog?

Plenty! Bloggers really open my eyes and help me discovering various interesting books out there. The Lying Game is one of the book I discovered from a blog and I turned out liking it. The Oracle of Stamboul is a book I want to read so badly after seeing a review in Reading Teen's blog.

---------

WOW! That's all I can say when I realize we've gained more than 100 followers in a few days from giveaway hop alone. Thank you very much guys!
I do hope that you all will be actively commenting and reading our post as well, not just because of the giveaway. I can guarantee you we'll have more interesting reviews, features, and of course giveaways.

Perhaps some of you notice that we barely have any post in the last few days. Well, Mithee is currently having problem with her internet connection, Kay-c back to her dorm, and me, back to work again. But that doesn't mean we'll stop posting and reviewing and hopping. After we settle with our real life stuff, we'll be back full speed.

Three different characters and review styles in one blog, if you like YA, Mithee will satisfied your hunger, Kay-c also tend to read more YA and historical romance, while I have broader taste, ranging from YA, historical, sci-fi, humor, fantasy (of course). even literature. Yes, not every lit fan hate genre fic, vice versa.

Challenges! Beside our own Wordsworth Classics Reading Challenge, we also participate in 100+ Reading Challenge and 2011 Debut Authors Reading Challenge. We will post our progress so you can follow our success and... well, hopefully not, our failure.

Memes! Teaser Tuesday, Waiting on Wednesday, Follow Friday, and In my Mailbox are the memes we've joined. But we also have our own Guest Post Monday feature where we drag ask authors, bloggers, or anyone in book community to answers some of our questions about their life. Sometimes we even let them took over our blog.

Follow Friday (6) and other stuff

Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee. No hop today! Question: What are you plans for this fabulous day?

Kay-c: Currently, My Mom is hosting a party for the family and for the employee's. Having these awesome party tonight. I'm planning to have fun and celebrate the christmas with my family plus my new found friends (some of the employee) oh not to mention to eat the cakes <3 (yum) :3. Merry Christmas Everyone~ and Enjoy the day with your family =)

Lyn: I'm not celebrating Christmas but my friends does so I will congratulate them and perhaps visit their houses to eat some cakes :D, and then hangout with my friends who doesn't celebrate Christmas as well.
And for today, I'm arranging my new workroom + mini library. My sister had married and now lives with her husband so her room is empty. That mean I can take over use her room and of course I use it as my workroom and mini library. Not actually a library because I only have two small bookshelves where I cramped almost all my books.

Book Blogger Hop (2) &Follow Friday (4 & 5)

Book Blogger Hop
Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee. Book Blogger Hop is hosted by Jennifer of Crazy-For-Books.

I can't believe it's that time of the year again. *sniffs* Yesterday was the last day of our preliminary exams and I'm so happy I survived it without nose bleeding, fainting, vomiting or whatever. I just hope my grades would survive too. *fingers crossed* ALSO! Only 8 days to go before Christmas!! Aren't you excited?? The Simbang Gabi (Mass at Dawn), also, has started a couple of days ago in my country. It sucks that I wouldn't get to complete it. Again. Simbang Gabi is a yearly tradition in the Philippines that starts Dec. 16 and ends Dec. 25. where people go to church at dawn (usually 4-5 am) for 9 days. If you get to complete those 9 days, you will be entitled to make a wish. Which will be granted, of course. *winkwink*
bibingka
Puto bungbong
Usually, it's also the time when stores that sell Bibingkas and Puto bungbongs pop up like mushrooms in the streets. They are rice cakes and you don't go home from the mass without buying those. Sometimes, those two are what I really look forward to Mass at Dawns... yum.

Book Blogger Hop: This week's question comes from Alex who blogs at Geek on the Brink:

"What do you consider the most important in a story: the plot or the characters?"

Mithee says: Both. The plot and the characters play a vital role in a story. Sometimes, if I don't like a story's plot but it has some kickass characters, I'd keep reading it. If the story has boring characters but has a mind-blowing plot, I'd keep reading it as well.

Lyn says: Both but first and foremost: the plot. I can stand bad characters in interesting plot but good characters in bad plot is such a waste!

Kay-c: It depends. Though I would preferred both. But sometimes plot leads me to love the characters. But sometimes if I love the character I will have to force myself to love the plot as well. So It just depends on how I would I appreciate the book.

Follow Friday: This week's question comes from Carmel at Rabid Reads:

What did you study in college, or are currently studying and did it lead to your current 9 to 5 or are you doing something totally different?

Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee

Wow. I can't believe another week has passed again. Last week, the three of us have been stressing ourselves on looking for free templates for our blog layout - we're html noobs, if that isn't obvious enough. And now we've finally settled on one, we don't know what to do with our blog anymore. Lol. Just kidding. Btw, do you like our layout? Kay-c is responsible for this one. I don't know where she got it, though. But really, you veteran/awesome bloggers out there, give us a piece of advice, suggestion, recommendation, violent reaction or whatever you want/like us to do with our blog.

Btw, this green-fonter girl speaking is Mithee. (^_^) From now on, I'll be using dark green for my posts. Kay-c's will be red violet and Lynossa's will be blue.
